Development of Axelot WMS E5 Beta
On November 10, 2021, AXELOT announced the completion of the next stage of development of the AXELOT WMS E5 solution, which is carried out with the support of the Russian Information Technology Development Fund. The tasks of the completed stage were to develop a beta version of the AXELOT WMS E5 system and carry out functional and load testing.
During the work, a test bench was assembled, the NSI was loaded into the system, the topology was configured, the initial remnants were established. The real processes of the test object were also configured. AXELOT specialists have developed user documentation for the beta version of the system: WMS administrator's guide, technical requirements, system administrator's guide.
Functional testing was carried out on 78 test scenarios affecting at least 100 item items. In addition, load testing was carried out with the following parameters:
- More than 10,000 incoming and outgoing orders scheduled simultaneously
- at least 200 product items in each of the documents;
- Total number of active items is more than 50,000
- The most highly loaded processes were checked: loading of expected receipts, loading of shipping orders, planning of the placement of accepted goods and planning of selection for loaded orders.
The successful completion of this stage confirmed that the developed and tested components have sufficient functionality and performance to use them to create the business logic of the system with the planned characteristics. There were no deviations in terms. AXELOT WMS E5 is ready for pilot projects.
Axelot WMS E5
On October 1, 2021, Axelot announced that it had released the Axelot WMS E5 solution.
Axelot WMS E5 is a system based on the .Net Core technology platform, expanding the range of WMS solutions offered by Axelot for automating warehouse complexes. The solution also belongs to the 5th methodological generation of systems from Axelot, is part of the Axelot logistics platform and has a single methodology with the Axelot WMS X5 product developed on the 1C:Enterprise 8 technology platform.
Axelot WMS Ye5 is focused primarily on storage facilities with a high degree of robotization of processes and intensity of operations. At the same time, the product also supports "manual" processes performed with the participation of people.
When developing the Axelot WMS Ye5, the following requirements were formulated and implemented:
- Scale horizontally
- the principle of "data is always at hand";
- event model;
- easy addition of functionality and behavior for both the system as a whole and its individual components;
- easy optimization of existing algorithms and substitution of standard functionality;
- adaptive user interface.
Non-standard approaches to developing the Axelot WMS Ye5 architecture have made it possible to provide versatility, adaptability, flexibility and performance of the system:
- the system object model in memory and in-memory calculations give high scheduling speed;
- the event bus provides real-time interaction of all components of the system, makes it possible to track events and respond to them without delay;
- built-in control of robotic equipment and other technologically complex equipment ensures implementation of business logic of warehouse operations management with the most dense interaction with robotic equipment;
- All functional flexibility of solutions on the fifth generation Axelot logistics platform and compliance with the international WMS standard (VDI 3601) is preserved, which ensures accuracy of accounting, compliance of the business processes configured in the system with physical ones and eliminates errors and inaccuracies in their execution;
- Adaptive user interface allows you to design specialist workplaces with ergonomics in mind.
A complete description of the functionality and technical requirements is available on the product page.
The development of the system was carried out with state support from the Russian Fund for the Development of Information Technologies (RFRIT), which acts as an operator of measures to support projects for the implementation of domestic products, services and platform solutions created on the basis of end-to-end digital technologies.
