As part of the strategy to ensure technological independence, ROSATOM has begun to develop a voluntary certification system for IT solutions. It will be designed to assess compliance with the requirements of technological independence, functionality and reliability of software and IT equipment planned for use at significant facilities of critical information infrastructure in the nuclear industry. This was announced on March 26, 2024 by Greenatom.

The developed certification system will take into account the requirements of and standards to be used to ensure trust in validated solutions. Within the framework of the project, Rosatom plans to work closely with state regulators, software and equipment manufacturers, the professional community and research institutes.

Russian developers will be able to pass the certification procedure and manufacturers who are interested in implementing their IT solutions on CII objects. At the initial stage of the project, the system will be designed for testing some solutions, for example, from the field of computing or telecommunications equipment. They will be powered by the entire volume of certification studies and tests necessary to recognize the decision as trusted.

{{quote 'The principle of power of attorney is based on aspects such as technological independence, functionality and reliability. It is important for us that at significant KII facilities, software and equipment were used, in which the entire development and production cycle took place in Russia. By the end of 2024, it is planned to test a number of solutions and issue the first certificate. In our opinion, the system will allow you to correctly approach the selection and implementation of solutions, and will also be an important step in ensuring the technological independence and stability of information systems of the nuclear industry, "said Evgeny Abakumov, Director for Information Infrastructure of Rosatom State Corporation.}}
