2024: Introducing BPMSoft into educational programs

The Russian Technological University (RTU) and the Lanit Omni company (part of the LANIT group) are starting to train young specialists with popular skills in low code development and automation of business processes on domestic software. The parties signed an agreement under which educational programs will be adjusted taking into account the in-depth development of the relevant competencies of future graduates. LANIT announced this on April 19, 2024.

Starting from the spring semester 2023/2024, the platform BPMSoft integrated in the educational process of the Reengineering discipline business processes for third-year students of the Informatization of Organizations profile of the Department of Practical and Applied information scientists Institute of Information Technologies RTU MIREA.

Cooperation between LANIT Omni and RTU MIREA has become part of the long-term academic initiative BPMSoft Education, aimed at training young specialists in universities in Russia and Belarus with the skills to work with current IT systems. As part of the agreement, the university received licenses for the low-code platform BPMSoft Constructor.

Now young IT specialists at lectures will get acquainted with the architecture features, specifications and notations of the BPM system, and in practical classes they will build, launch, analyze business processes and manage them on software from LANIT Omni. In the academic year 2024/25, RTU MIREA will expand the variability of tasks that students will analyze and introduce BPMSoft into the educational process of the discipline "Information systems for managing corporate content and customer relations."

In the fall of 2023, students of the master's program "Corporate and Distributed Information Systems" of the IT Institute already had the opportunity to get acquainted with BPMSoft within the framework of the discipline Software of "corporate information systems." This experience was successful, so the leadership of the Institute IT made the low-code platform a mandatory element of the undergraduate program.

RTU MIREA seeks to accumulate within itself all modern technologies through strategic partnerships with large companies - manufacturers of domestic software, such as LANIT Omni. We believe that vocational education should not be disconnected from the real business sector. The Department of Practical and Applied Informatics implements the undergraduate educational program "Informatization of Organizations," in which students study current products of electronic document management, artificial intelligence, automation of business processes. If these technologies are in demand by the market, then the next generation of IT professionals should own them,
said Andrey Zuev, director of the Institute of Information Technologies.
