At the first Moscow State Medical University named after I.M. Sechenov, the first center for digital design and communications in healthcare in Russia began work. This was reported by the press service of the university at the end of May 2024.

The main goal of the new structure is to develop a single standard of digital services interfaces for the healthcare system, designed to improve the usability of medical information systems for doctors and patients. In addition, the Center's specialists will prepare recommendations for designing the sites of Russian medical organizations.

As the Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation of the University Alexei Anosov noted, the main factor in increasing the arrays of structured biomedical data is the convenience of their entry into medical information systems by local doctors. Intuitive digital service interfaces simplify and speed up data access.

According to the director of the center for digital design Ksenia Ulyanova, the new structural unit of the First Moscow State Medical University will become a point of attraction for experts in the field of digital health. It will prepare recommendations for developers of information systems, which they will use when creating their products.

Ulyanova added that the center will form working groups to test existing medical information systems, receive feedback from doctors, as well as select and scale the most convenient and understandable IT services and systems. In the future, standards for the use of AI in chat bots designed for the medical community and patients will be developed in conjunction with experts in artificial intelligence technologies.

"The creation of the Center for Digital Design and Communications in Healthcare is an important step towards improving the efficiency and usability of digital technologies in Russian medicine. The development of uniform standards of interfaces and recommendations for medical information systems will optimize the work of doctors and improve the quality of medical care for the population, "said the director of the center[1]
