2024: Developing sex robots with human-like emotions

At the end of June 2024, Starpery Technology announced that it was training its own language AI model to develop interactive sex robots with emotions like a person that could support a conversation with a user. By August 2024, the company plans to prepare prototypes in both male and female dolls.

Although robots are supposed to be able to have only a simple conversation, creating interactive responses requires the development of complex models by specialized software companies. The new dolls will feature more sensors to quickly respond to movement and speech to create a more compelling emotional connection to the user.

While discussion of sex toys is taboo in China, this does not apply to production. Starpery is headquartered in Shenzhen, in the south of Guangdong province, which is the global capital of adult sex toy production. According to the general director of the company, such a location increases the efficiency of the supply chain, allows you to save on the scale of production and allows you to quickly respond to market requirements. The company typically sells its products outside of China, given the relatively conservative culture of its home country. However, the company plans to sooner or later enter the Chinese market, where sales can surpass the corresponding figures in the United States, Japan and Germany combined.

Starpery is also developing more practical robots. In a few years, the company plans to release robots capable of doing basic housework, as well as the first "smart service robot" that will be able to perform more complex services for people with disabilities and the elderly.^[1]
