2024: Satellites "Pixel-BP" - the basis of the system of DZZ "Autograph"

The constellation of satellites created by the holding "Russian Space Systems" (RKS, part of the State Corporation Roskosmos"") together with ("NPO Lavochkina" part of the State Corporation "Roscosmos") will become the basis of a promising space remote sensing system (Lands remote sensing system). "Autograph" Representatives of TAdviser the RKS reported this to the portal on July 2, 2024. Small space devices "Pixel-BP" are designed to fill the niche of monitoring infrastructure facilities in ultra-high spatial resolution, provide DZZ data of high efficiency and quality, as well as expand the range of digital geo-information services for citizens states and businesses.

Roscosmos creates a new multi-satellite Earth remote sensing system

Despite its compact dimensions (1x1x1.9 m), the Pixel-BP satellites will conduct detailed optical-electronic observation of the Earth in the visible and near infrared spectrum in a solar-synchronous orbit 500-700 km high. At the initial stage, the weight of the Pixel-BP spacecraft will be 600 kg. At the second stage of deploying the constellation and increasing the number of satellites, the indicator is planned to be reduced to 300 kg.

According to the Director General of the RKS Gennady Erokhin, the satellites will allow receiving high-quality operational information on the dynamics of changes in various objects and the landscape, and the unified onboard equipment will ensure the stable functioning of spacecraft throughout the entire service life.

"To create the first two satellites of the Autograph system, the proven and well-proven platform of the Lavochkina NGO Karat-200 will be used. This will allow us to create satellites in a short time and work out a new camera. The next spacecraft of this series will be produced on a new platform focused on mass production, "said Ilshat Gubaidulin, chief designer of the Autograph space system.

As he clarified, subsequently the grouping is planned to be increased to 14 "Pixel-BP" in seven planes - two satellites each. Such construction of the system should ensure maximum efficiency of areal shooting up to 240 thousand square meters. km per day or shooting one area up to twice a day. In the future, it is planned to increase the number of satellites to 72.

The service space platform of the devices will be created on unified technical solutions.

"One of the latest developments of the holding, used by us on satellites of the Autograph system, is the technology of obtaining high-quality images of the Earth's surface in conditions of low illumination of objects. This is a new system for moving photomatrices, which, when creating a frame, increases the accumulation time when shooting the required objects, which significantly increases the capabilities of the satellite's optical-electronic system for information processing and allows you to obtain clear images of even low-contrast objects, "said Yuri Gervin, chief designer of the RKS direction.

It is assumed that the cameras will operate in the visible spectrum, and service equipment with intelligent filling will be able to automatically transmit information to receiving ground stations. Onboard equipment will highlight forest fires, flooding sites, floodplains and much more. The ground segment is deployed on a platform operating since 2015 - the Unified Territorial-Distributed Information System (ETRIS) of the FAR.

The initial reception of targeted information from Pixel-BP will be carried out by ETRIS ground complexes in the European, Siberian, Far Eastern and Arctic regions of our country. Further processing, systematization, archiving and communication of data to the consumer will be provided by the Scientific Center for Operational Monitoring of the Earth RKS located in Moscow.

Information support for launching satellites into orbit will be carried out by the RKS complex of measuring, collecting and processing information from the Vostochny cosmodrome. The spacecraft will be controlled from the Mission Control Center on the basis of TsNIImash JSC.
