2024: Transmashholding sold Transmash plant to Tractor Plants concern

JSC Transmashholding"" (TMH) completed the sale of the Transmash plant, located in the city of Engels, Saratov region to the concern Tractor plants"." This became known on July 12, 2024. The move is part of the company's asset restructuring strategy aimed at optimising its production portfolio.

According to Interfax, Transmash specializes in the production of freight cars and snow removal equipment. The amount of the transaction was not disclosed, but it is known that this is the second such transaction between TMH and Tractor Plants in recent years.

Transmashholding management explained that the decision to sell Transmash was due to the intention to concentrate on the development and production of complex railway equipment. The management of the production of freight cars and foundry facilities will be transferred to a professional management team specializing in this area.

It is worth noting that in June 2024, Tractor Plants already acquired the Bezhitskaya Steel Bryansk plant from TMH, which indicates the systematic implementation of the holding's asset restructuring strategy.

Transmashholding is selling assets as part of a restructuring that became known in June 2024. Then the head of the company, Kirill Lipa, announced plans to change the structure of ownership of the holding, excluding Cypriot jurisdiction. The process of transferring shares to Russian jurisdiction is planned to be completed in the summer of 2024.

TMH is the largest manufacturer of rolling stock for rail transport in Russia. The company is headquartered in Moscow, and international divisions are located in Egypt, Belarus and Kazakhstan. Until recently, the holding's structure included 12 production and assembly sites in Russia and other countries of the world.

The geography of Transmashholding covers 30 countries, which emphasizes the scale and importance of the company in the international railway engineering market. Despite the sale of some assets, TMH remains a key player in the industry, focusing its efforts on the production of high-tech products.[1]
