"Дом.РФ" moved from import servers to Aquarius and Yadro. What came of it

In the group of companies "Дом.РФ," a single institute of development in the housing sector, there is a large-scale project to replace imported "iron" with domestic. Anton Petukhov, Chief information officer of Дом.РФ and Bank of Russia, spoke about his first results, impressions of the use of Russian products and future Дом.РФ on September 25, speaking at the TAdviser Banks IT Day conference.

In the group of companies, including 14 legal entities, there are two infrastructure circuits: one is used for the bank, the second - for all other legal entities "Дом.РФ." There are four data centers, more than 600 servers, more than 1,000 switches and routers, more than 5,000. PCs and all-in-ones, 3,000 laptops.

Like many other organizations, Дом.РФ faced import substitution in 2022. It refers to the list of state-owned companies approved by the government, which are ordered to develop special strategies for digital transformation according to the template of the Ministry of Digital Development and achieve certain indicators. Four of them are associated with import substitution of software and hardware, and one of the indicators implies that during 2024 it is necessary to spend at least 80% of the money for the purchase of domestic equipment from the total costs of equipment.

First of all, the "Дом.РФ" turned register of radio electronic products of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to and saw that the market leaders in it occupy a significant share. For example, in the laptop segment, the share "Aquarius" in the register in terms of the number of models is 49%. And in the segment of switches and routers, 34% of the list in the registry falls on the company. Back in 2022, Дом.РФ had an impressive "zoo" of imported solutions. For 2023-2024. part of the nomenclature was decommissioned and replaced by Russian solutions. In the table below, red indicates the products of manufacturers that have been abandoned, yellow - which there are plans to abandon, green - the domestic products used.

We expect somewhere by 2027-2028. to completely switch to domestic equipment, - said Anton Petukhov.

And one of the key projects in Дом.РФ in 2025 will be the creation of a new, commercial data center immediately on Russian software and equipment, the speaker shared. According to the plan, from 2026 it will start working.

Speaking about the existing experience of operating domestic servers, the Chief information officer of Дом.РФ said that in general the company is satisfied with this experience. In terms of the number of requests to technical support, the indicators are comparable to the previously used products of foreign vendors.

The products now presented in the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade cover the needs of "Дом.РФ" in Russian equipment by 75%, Anton Petukhov said. Part of the nomenclature is missing, such as phones, MFPs, printers, scanners, peripheral equipment, as well as components for a PC (for example, RAM). There is also a shortage of high-performance solutions.

Among the advantages of Russian vendors, the company also notes the presence of developed R&D and investments in the creation of new solutions.

It is pleasant to work with domestic manufacturers, because there is always a short distance, there is always an opportunity to go to the plant and talk with the owners, convey some of their problems, which was almost impossible to do with Western suppliers, - said the Chief information officer of Дом.РФ.

But there are also disadvantages of the market for Russian electronic products. In addition to the absence and lack of part of the nomenclature in the register, they can also include, for example, the high cost of equipment compared to foreign counterparts. However, Anton Petukhov notes that Russian equipment cannot be comparable in price to a foreign one due to the current situation and disparate production volumes. At the same time, the company sees a tendency to reduce the cost of Russian hardware.

There is also a lack of interaction between vendors of radioelectronic products with manufacturers of critical high-load software in the field of ABS and processing, for example. In addition, there are not enough specialists in domestic solutions:
