The center of competence in the field of transport planning and modeling, the group of companies SIMETRA will deal with the calculations and development of transport a model for constructions a new road junction at the intersection of Marposad Highway and Traktorostroiteley Avenue in. Cheboksary Simetra announced this on September 30, 2024.

The construction of the transport hub is aimed at improving the connection between the city of Cheboksary and its satellite city Novocheboksarsky, connected by the only road - the Marposadsky highway. The intersection with Traktorostroiteley Avenue on the east of Cheboksary has become one of the bottlenecks for transport as part of the development concept of the Cheboksary agglomeration, which also includes the Cheboksary, Mariinsky-Posad, Morgaushsky and Tsivilsky districts.

The contract for the work was concluded with the housing and utilities management and improvement of Cheboksary. As part of the agreement, the SIMETRA team will carry out micro-modeling of all possible options for planning solutions for the road junction in order to identify the most effective solution for the future of 20 years. The customer will also receive proposals for the organization of traffic at neighboring intersections.

The work is scheduled to be completed by November 2024. During this time, SIMETRA will conduct a technical and economic comparison with the visualization of design solutions, determine the location of engineering networks for reconstruction, as well as land plots that fall into the construction zone. Experts will give recommendations on how to most effectively approach the construction stages and predict the timing of their completion, as well as give a preliminary estimate of the cost and the most suitable version of the planning solution.

In order to solve the problems of the project, domestic software for RITM³ modeling will also be used. The platform allows full calculation and analysis of the forecast transport situation.

The project to develop a transport model of the interchange has already started. We conducted a survey of the territory and began the calculation stage. The construction of a road junction at the exit from Cheboksary will significantly improve communication with the satellite city - the travel time will be reduced, and the average traffic speed will increase, which will be especially noticeable during peak hours, "said Sergey Blakitny, head of the transport planning group SIMETRA.
