2025: League buys Talion Imperial
LLC League acquired the five-star hotel Talion Imperial St. Petersburg for ₽4,41 billion at the auction of the Russian Auction House, becoming the winner of the auction for the sale of the hotel complex in the historical building of the former Eliseev mansion. The acquired property included 16 premises of the hotel complex with 89 rooms and an adjacent land plot in the city center between Nevsky Prospekt, Bolshaya Morskaya Street and Moika Embankment. This was announced "Komsomolskaya Pravda" on September 15, 2025.
The hotel is located in the reconstructed mansion "House of Chicherin N.I. (Eliseev)," built in 1884 and connected to the house of Kosikovsky A.I. on Bolshaya Morskaya Street, 14A. The building is an object of historical value in one of the most prestigious locations in the Northern capital.
The hotel complex previously belonged to Talion JSC and Eliseev Palace Hotel CJSC, but both enterprises went through bankruptcy proceedings, which led to the need to sell assets through auction tenders. The sale of real estate was the result of the financial difficulties of previous owners.
RAD CEO Andrei Stepanenko described the deal as one of the largest in the North-West of Russia in the field of commercial real estate in 2025. According to him, it took 12 years of painstaking work to complete this transaction to prepare the object for sale.
Stepanenko noted the need to transform Talion Imperial Hotel into a modern hotel or office complex, stressing that such modernization was a long overdue need. The head of the auction house pointed to the high potential of the facility for further development.
The unique location of the hotel in the historical center of St. Petersburg makes it especially attractive for tourists and representatives of the business community. Proximity to the city's main highway - Nevsky Prospekt - provides high transport accessibility and tourist attractiveness.[1]
2020: Bank St. Petersburg takes part of the company's shares and demands 5.5 billion rubles from Alexander Ebralidze
In February 2020, the court decided to take away 9.99% of the shares of Talion JSC from Ebralidze and give it to St. Petersburg Bank for debts. These shares were used as collateral for loans that the bank in 2010 provided to Ebralidze structures for a total amount of 4 billion rubles. The money had to be returned until November 22, 2018, but the businessman did not. Later, the total amount of claims of Bank St. Petersburg against Talion JSC and its daughter Eliseev Palace Hotel CJSC amounted to 5.5 billion rubles.
Further, the bank demanded that both companies run by the businessman be declared bankrupt; in April 2021, the Kuibyshevsky District Court of St. Petersburg collected 324.8 million rubles of debt from Ebralidze to St. Petersburg Bank, and in June Ebralidze was ordered to pay 5.5 billion rubles to the bank.
2018: Unsuccessful attempt to sell a hotel for 20 billion rubles
In 2018, Ebralidze said that he was no longer interested in the hotel business. "Today, my main interests are concentrated in woodworking and recycling. This is the main reason for the sale, "he told Fontanka then.
From that moment, he put Taleon Imperial Hotel for sale three times. The last time his realtors asked for 20 billion rubles for the hotel. Approximately the same amount then investors demanded to return for the plant Alexander Ebralidze in the Tver region.
2009: Completion of reconstruction after the connection of two neighboring buildings. Core Casino Revenue
Later, the businessman added two more buildings to the complex - 15 on Nevsky Prospekt, the house of General Police Chief of St. Petersburg Chicherin, and Kosikovsky's house on Bolshaya Morskaya, 14.
The reconstruction of the hotel ended in 2009. By that time, the equity of Talion LLC was estimated at 2.6 billion rubles. As Fontanka wrote, Ebralidze brought most of the profit, 53%, to the gambling business, the share of the delivery of rooms was only 12.9%, another 14.3% - the restaurant.
Ebralidze's ambitions did not stop the protest of city defenders - he built a pool on the roof of his hotel, but interest in the place disappeared along with the casino in the historical center.
2003: Opening of the hotel on the day of the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg
Reconstruction ended in 2003, and on the day of the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg, the hotel was inaugurated.
1993: Resettlement of communal apartments in house 59 on the Moika embankment and the opening of a club with a casino
One of the first business projects of Alexander Ebralidze was the Kondratievsky market - the St. Petersburg analogue of the Bird Market in Moscow. Soon, other St. Petersburg bazaars - Hearty, Sennaya and Troitsky - fell under his control.
In parallel with the development of markets, the idea of an elite club on Nevsky Prospekt appeared, which later became known to the whole city as the most prestigious and closed institution - the Talion club at 59 Moika. This building previously belonged to the district committee of the CPSU, but, despite the abundance of applicants for the property of the party, it was Ebralidze who got the mansion.
The construction of the Taleon club began in 1993 with the resettlement of communal apartments in the 59th house on the embankment of the Moika River in St. Petersburg.
In the 1990s and early 2000s, it was considered prestigious among government officials to resolve issues and simply dine or dine in Yeliseyeva old mansion at 59 Moika, where the Talion Club was located. It was an upper class restaurant, a casino, a cigar salon, and a fitness center.
