2024: Contract for the supply of AIS kits

The Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport (Rosmorrechflot) and the developer of maritime solutions Sitronics KT (part of the Sitronics Group) signed a two-year contract for the supply of sets of coastal (base) stations of the automatic identification system. Sitronics announced this on October 23, 2024. AIS base stations are designed for information exchange between vessels and shore on VHF channels in autonomous mode. The AIS coastal station allows you to receive information about ships, their movement parameters, as well as messages related to the safety of navigation on inland waterways.

The AIS technology will be used by employees of the coastal dispatch services responsible for monitoring the movement of ships to prevent emergencies on inland waterways.

The efficient functioning and development of inland waterways is impossible without the active introduction of technologies into the practice of navigation and management of navigation on rivers. - noted the head of Rosmorrechflot Andrei Tarasenko. - The establishment of appropriate systems for the automatic exchange of information between vessels and coastal services will ensure the control of navigation, its effectiveness, as well as the protection of human life and the environment.

The system operates in real time, complies with globally agreed standards and principles. Interoperability of AIS for inland navigation with a similar marine system will ensure direct data exchange between marine vessels and inland navigation vessels navigating in mixed navigation areas. Sitronics recalled that AIS is already successfully operated in the administrations of inland waterways on the Unified Deep Water System. Additional sets of equipment will receive five basin administrations subordinate to Rosmorrechflot, which will ensure a continuous coverage area.

Equipment delivery is carried out within the framework of the federal project "Maintenance, development and use of the GLONASS system" of the state program "Space Activities of Russia."

The marine and river industries are continuing their active digital transformation. As developers, we try to find solutions to its requests - both in terms of creating sovereign software and hardware. Most often, objects requiring digital modernization are critical infrastructure, so all our products are certified and all the necessary examinations, said Andrey Rodionov, General Director of Sitronics KT.
