The Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport (Rosmorrechflot) is an executive body acting to provide public services and manage state property in the field of maritime and river transport. It is part of the Ministry of Transport of Russia.

The main functions in the established field of activity of Rosmorrechflot:

  • navigational support for navigation of ships in the waters of ports, on the routes of the Northern Sea Route and on inland waterways,
  • dispatching control of the movement of ships along internal routes,
  • registration of sailor's ID cards (ULM) and sea books (MK),
  • creation of the Global Maritime Communications System.
  • Search and rescue, rescue of people at sea.

History

2025: Receiving 20 new vessels

The fleet of subordinate enterprises of Rosmorrechflot was replenished with more than 20 ships in 2025. The new vessels are designed to operate on the Northern Sea Route, inland waterways and seaports. Data in January 2026 leads the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Russia.

The rescue fleet of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Marine Rescue Service" received five Project NE025 tugs. The vessels "Uzon" and "Pechak" are assigned to the port.   • hydrographic boats "Raskat," "Zarya" and "Voskhod" - Volga-Caspian sea shipping channel;
  • self-propelled ram "Beringia" - Northeast Basin Branch, Anadyr.

The Marine Rescue Service also handed over a multifunctional emergency rescue vessel of the Kerch Strait MPSV06 project. The vessel with a capacity of 7 MW is not limited to sailing areas and is capable of operating in Arctic conditions.

To control the state of the ship's course on inland waterways, the construction of seven ambient vessels of the 3050.1A project was completed in 2025. Three of them were transferred to the basin administrations: the motor ships "Petrel" and "Frigate" received "Ob-Irtyshvodput," the motor ship "Albatros" - the Administration of the Dvinsk-Pechora basin.

The fleet of the Lena Basin Administration and the Ob-Irtyshvodput Administration was replenished with one shallow non-self-propelled dredger with a capacity of 500 cubic meters. Project m/h Ts490 DM1. Two more dredgers for the basin administrations were built under preferential leasing[1]

2024: Andrey Tarasenko's appointment as head

At the end of March 2024, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree appointing Andrei Tarasenko as the new head of Rosmorrechflot. In this position, he replaced Zakhary Dzhioev, who, according to the press service of the Cabinet, resigned of his own free will.
