The infrastructure of the terminal allows you to serve ships up to 191 meters long, up to 26 meters wide and up to 7 meters draught. The North-West Basin Branch is capable of transshipment of up to 20 thousand standard trucks per year, including transshipment of goods such as ro-ro, cars, as well as general and bulk cargoes according to a direct scheme.

In Pionersky, the construction of pier No. 2, the protective mol, the building of the passenger terminal and other auxiliary structures continues. The project has been implemented since February 2018, when Rosmorport signed a contract with Bolverk.

The importance of the Kaliningrad freight sea line increased after Lithuania introduced restrictions on the railway and road transit of sub-sanctioned goods in June 2022. At the beginning of December 2024, sea transportation of goods between the Kaliningrad region and the main territory of Russia is provided by 27 dry cargo ships and ferries operating on the lines Ust-Luga - Baltiysk, Ust-Luga - Pionersky, Bronka - Kaliningrad, Petersburg - Baltiysk and Petersburg - Kaliningrad.[1]
