2025: Inferit Cloud Implementation
The Russian system of inventory, accounting and control of the IT infrastructure Inferit ITMen (part of the Inferit ecosystem, Softline Group of Companies), against the background of the scaling and development of its product, optimized the development efficiency after transferring test environments to the capacity of the Inferit Cloud provider. The deployment of a scalable IaaS platform corresponds to the strategic priorities of Softline Group of Companies for the development of IT services and cloud services. This was announced on January 10, 2025 by Softline Group of Companies.
As reported, Inferit ITMen is a Russian system of inventory, accounting and control of IT infrastructure. The solution helps to clean up chaotic and disparate data about IT assets and is an aggregator of "cleaned" data for ITSM, ITAM, SAM. The system has been used in complex projects since 2011 and is an alternative to foreign inventory and accounting products that have left the Russian market Lansweeper, FusionInventory and others.
Due to the rapid scaling and acceleration of product development, the Inferit ITMen team needed to expand and modify the development and testing environments. The existing infrastructure completely covered the needs of the business, but the developer wanted to scale even faster taking into account future releases.
The cloud infrastructure was chosen as the optimal solution. The key criteria for choosing a cloud provider are:
- Scalability. The ability to quickly and flexibly increase or reduce the amount of consumed resources.
- Extensive connectivity. There are additional communication channels for integration with the cloud infrastructure.
- Support for Kubernetes. Ensure compatibility with the container orchestration instruments used.
- Pay-as-you-go model. Optimize costs by paying for only the resources actually consumed.
- Optimal value for money. Get maximum performance at the lowest cost.
The Inferit ITMen direction decided to develop infrastructures within its own ecosystem, so the team turned to the Inferit Cloud provider. The presented IaaS infrastructure fully met the requirements of Inferit ITMen and provided a reliable and scalable platform for development and testing.
After the transfer of test environments to the cloud, Inferit ITMen highlighted the following results:
- The flexibility of the cloud model provides the right speed to distribute IT workloads to your business.
- The IT team has the ability to quickly access the computing resources necessary for development, as well as to use additional services available under the subscription model.
- The reliability and availability of test environments for development has been optimized due to the fault-tolerant architecture of the cloud provider infrastructure.
- The speed of deployment of new resources has increased: from 4-6 per week to 3-4 per day.
The development team almost immediately noted the capabilities of the cloud service - the lease of infrastructure of any configuration with per second billing. You only need to pay for the computing resources that were actually used. The ability to scale resources up and down in the cloud allows you to quickly deploy environments only for the right time and dispose of leased capacity by almost 100%. noted Sergey Andrievsky, CTO of Inferit Cloud |
