Installing Eltex IP/MPLS Devices
RTK-Service, being an ICT partner Rostelecom"," as part of the optimization of the operator infrastructure, telecom he successfully implemented a project to modernize the network. communications Engineers installed new equipment in four support nodes in the city. Tomsk The Rostelecom network IP used/MPLS devices from the Russian manufacturer. Eltex This project is another step towards replacing imported telecom equipment. Rostelecom announced this on January 16, 2025.
To build new networks or optimize existing ones, we use mainly Russian equipment. Solutions are already appearing on the market that will compete with Western counterparts in the near future. We carefully test them, and thanks to the professionalism of our partner RTK-Service, migration to domestic development is as painless as possible for us, "commented Alexey Nikitin, vice president, director of backbone networks at PJSC Rostelecom. |
As a result of the modernization, Rostelecom increased the throughput of the communication line in the Tomsk region, increasing the speed of the data transmission network to 80 Gbps in the areas being upgraded. Now customers can use the operator's product portfolio in full.
RTK-Service engineers combined Eltex routers with equipment from other manufacturers, including Western ones. Seamless integration of devices into the operator's multi-tender infrastructure required a thorough joint study of the project by an ICT partner and vendor. The engineers of both teams fine-tuned the devices and combined them with the equipment installed on the networks, preventing interruptions in the services provided to subscribers. During the installation, the vendor finalized the router software and worked out other technical requests from the customer.
The results of the work showed its high efficiency. And, therefore, this solution can be scaled on other large carrier networks with a large number of clients and a variety of services. As of January 2025, we completed the first stage of the introduction of Eltex routers - in the Tomsk region. Ahead - scaling of this solution to other regional communication networks. Close cooperation with the vendor, which we have developed, will guarantee not only the implementation of projects on time, but also the compliance of the result with the customer's expectations, - said Alexander Kastrykin, Deputy General Director for Technical Infrastructure of RTK-Service. |
Together with RTK-Service, we began phased implementation of our IP/MPLS routers on the network. Eltex began developing this equipment back in 2014, gradually developing the functionality for replacing foreign solutions on the operator's network. A natural result of the work done over the past years was the successful launch of Eltex routers on the network of the Tomsk branch of Rostelecom. The work of our engineers and engineers RTK-Service - in a single team helped to quickly solve all the issues that arose during the implementation of the project. Close cooperation with the integrator allowed us to comply with all the work procedures on the operator's complex network, which has technological features, - said Alexander Knyazev, head of the department for work with the largest customers of Eltex. |
As of January 2025, Eltex equipment is also being piloted on operator networks in the Urals, then the solution will be scaled up to other regions of Russia.
Increase BRAS throughput and upgrade
The engineering team of RTK-Service implemented a large-scale project to increase throughput and modernized the BRAS equipment on the Rostelecom network. The work was performed without interruptions or failures in the network infrastructure. The operator announced this on July 1, 2024.
The operator's network capacity has been increased to the 1Gbps standard in 36 regions of Russia - from Kaliningrad to Irkutsk.
This is due to the need to transmit the constantly growing traffic volume of existing customers of the company and create a reserve to ensure a continuously increasing subscriber base.
RTK-Service redesigned networks for each macro-region taking into account integration with local billing systems, introduced new BRAS broadband remote access routers, and also upgraded existing equipment.
Some of the BRAS RTK-Service nodes were replaced with new ones, the other was transferred to points with a more relevant load, which made it possible to optimize the use of equipment. This approach allows carriers to make the most of the available expensive equipment when upgrading the network.
All sites at which construction, installation and commissioning of dozens of BRAS units were carried out at the same time are functionally interconnected, which required maximum coherence of the stages of work and clear adherence to the schedule.
The development of digital services is one of the important priorities for Rostelecom. The company's network infrastructure management model allows you to improve the quality of the services provided and get additional economic effect. Despite the labor intensity of the project, the competencies of the engineering team of our partner RTK-Service made it possible to achieve the desired result and expand communication channels without interruptions as soon as possible, - commented Alexey Sapunov, senior vice president for technical infrastructure at Rostelecom. |
The BRAS Network Upgrade and Operational Optimization Project focused on synchronizing component distribution and configuration control processes. The built-up algorithm made it possible to carry out large-scale work without affecting the quality of communication. The project became possible thanks to the wide geography of the presence of RTK-Service: we work in all regions of Russia with access to the most inaccessible locations. In addition, the company's extensive practical experience with BRAS equipment allowed us to work in detail at the start of the project to redesign the network elements and clearly build the stages of work at each site, "said Andrey Kononenko, General Director of RTK-Service. |
