2025: Healthy food manufacturer Masterfood acquired Biennale. The deal was estimated at ₽5 billion

The company Masterfood"," specializing in the production of products for healthy eating, in December 2024 acquired control over Biennale Group, a confectionery manufacturer in Podolsk,. The asset was owned by Mehrubon Sadykov, who also owns Masterfood, which produces products under the Natur Foods, Snack & Go, Botanica and Naturville brands. The acquisition became known in January 2025.

According to Kommersant, Biennale Group, founded in 2007, produces sweets under the Biennale and Gloriss brands at production facilities in Podolsk near Moscow. Before the change of ownership, the company belonged to Dmitry Telman. The production indicators of the enterprise in 2018 reached 3 tons of products per year.

Masterfood is developing an extensive network of raw material imports from 60 countries, including the Philippines, Vietnam, China, Chile, Brazil and Algeria. The company specializes in the production of dried fruits, nuts and other products for a healthy diet.

Investment banker Ilya Shumov provided an estimate of the value of Biennale Group's business at ₽5 billion, taking into account the lack of debt obligations from the company.

According to Rosstat, the volume of confectionery production in Russia for the period from January to November 2024 reached 3.9 million tons, which demonstrates an increase of 4.2% compared to the same period in 2023.

The head of FitnessData Maxim Borovikov noted a significant increase in sales of fitness snacks, including bars and desserts, in grocery retail and on marketplaces, which amounted to 85% in 2024 compared to 2023.

Since 2018, Biennale Group has maintained a strategic partnership with Health & Nutrition (formerly known as Danone). H&N representatives confirmed the continuation of cooperation with the preservation of significant production volumes at the enterprise in Podolsk.[1]
