2025: Appointment as Head of TsNIImash JSC

In mid-February 2025, the head was changed at the Central Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering (JSC TsNIImash). The head institute of Roscosmos was headed by Vasily Titov instead of Sergei Koblov, who ended the term of the employment contract, the state corporation specified.

They added that a short-term labor contract was signed with the new head of TsNIImash JSC. At the same time, specific deadlines were not disclosed. The change of the head of TsNIImash JSC took place a few days after a new general director, Dmitry Bakanov, was appointed in Roscosmos. He replaced several deputies and heads of Roscosmos structures.

By mid-February 2025, there is no information in open sources about the biography of Vasily Titov. It is only known that he is a candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, previously held the post of deputy general director of TsNIImash.

TsNIImash, headed by Vasily Titov, is the main analytical center of the Roscosmos corporation, which is engaged in comprehensive research of the problems of the development of rocket and space technology in Russia. The Center performs a wide range of tasks, including the design of concepts and long-term development strategies, as well as specific technological developments, followed by adaptation in the interests of other industries. Specialists from the Center for Heat Exchange and Aerogasdynamics, as well as the Center for Strength, conduct applied research and research aimed at ensuring ground tests of space rocket technology. The Information and Analytical Center for Coordinate-Time and Navigation Support (IAC KVNO) is engaged in system research for the development of development strategies for GLONASS and KVNO, as well as provides scientific, methodological and information support to the Federal Target Program "Global Navigation System" and provides data to users of global navigation satellite systems.[1]
