2025: Plan to place digital projects in the cloud
Within the framework of a partnership agreement with the St. Petersburg State University of Railways of Emperor Alexander I (PGUPS), the company will place several new digital projects developed by the university in its Data Center. Complit announced this on February 17, 2025.
Over the past few years, the trend of moving infrastructure to the cloud has become a key direction in the development of the IT landscape of organizations. PGUPS is actively introducing digital technologies to optimize the educational process and manage the university. The transition of some IT systems to the cloud will increase fault tolerance and flexibility of services.
Previously, all the developments of the university were carried out on physical servers, but with the growth of the number and scale of projects, there was a need to expand computing power. Placement of projects in the Data Center of COMPLIT will provide:
Increase fault tolerance by 30% with up to 99.98% guaranteed service availability in the cloud. Reduce IT maintenance costs by 25% by moving from physical hardware to cloud resources.
40% increase in the speed of deployment of new projects, which allows you to quickly implement innovative solutions.
The last two years at the university have been breakthroughs in information technology. We began the digital transformation of the university and launched many projects, such as a digital collective printing service, digital kiosks, an information board management system and a process automation service for the dean's office. Rapid development required additional resources provided to us by the COMPLIT Data Center, - said Sergey Ermakov, Head of the Department of Information and Computing Systems, Head of the Project Office for Digital Transformation of PGUPS. |
Cooperation between COMPLIT and PSHPS goes beyond infrastructure solutions and plays an important role in the training of IT specialists. For several years now, the company has been providing students with the opportunity to take internships, and now provides them with access to the cloud technologies necessary to work in the digital economy.
Active cooperation of data centers with universities allows not only to implement large-scale projects, but also to form future specialists for the industry. The transition to cloud technologies is becoming the standard for educational institutions, and PGUPS is among the leaders in this process, - said Svetlana Podukova, head of the cloud solutions development department at the COMPLIT Data Center. |
