2025: Opening access to design and technical documentation

In Russia, for the first time, they opened general access to design and technical documentation for the educational rover DH: Contact of the company "[[Droneshub (Dronshab)|Dronshab group]." Over five years, over 1.5 million students and robotics can use the design documentation. This was told in the press service of the company on March 17, 2025.

We are talking about providing general access to drawings, descriptions and diagrams of the assembly, including electronics and mounting units, as well as for the manufacture of all parts, the connection of equipment and computing modules.

The opening of access to documentation is primarily associated with the company's desire to promote the development of robotics in Russia, the emergence of new technological projects and solutions, and to facilitate the training of new personnel in this area. Open documentation will avoid many startups and projects unnecessary mistakes, and focus immediately on developing their projects on the basis of a ready-made open platform. The company plans to maintain, update and update documentation for the platform within five years. During this time, more than 1.5 million students and robotics will be able to use it.

Companies and educational organizations interested in cooperation will receive a full set of all documentation for the further use of rovers in any of their projects. We make educational robotics of the Russian Federation open and accessible more than ever before. We believe that for the training and development of real robotics, it is much better to use open and official Russian design documentation for free, while making our projects on its basis than to buy robots of unknown origin, "said Maxim Tomskikh, General Director of Dronshab Group.

Such a step on the part of the company (a member of the Consortium of Robotics and Intelligent Control Systems) is an important contribution to the development of domestic engineering education: open documentation can now be freely used by any educational organizations, any dealers and suppliers of robotic platforms. According to our calculations, over 300 thousand students and robotics per year will be able to apply for design documentation, "said Victor Tolmachev, director of the Robotics Consortium.

According to him, such an initiative is especially important, since for the effective implementation of the national project "Means of Production and Automation" (and the federal projects included in it in key areas: means of production and the tool industry, robotics and personnel training), domestic manufacturers of robotic complexes and the component base must focus on open source software and documentation, including when using additive technologies.

In December 2024, we signed an agreement on the formation of a Eurasian technological platform for the development of robotics, the production and introduction of robots in the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). We can declare with full confidence that access to the design documentation of the Dronshab Group rovers will also be open to five EAEU member countries, Victor Tolmachev added.
