2025: Implementation of SMS module in "System 112"
Rostelecom has introduced an SMS module into System 112, operating in Khakassia. Thanks to this, people with hearing restrictions, as well as those who cannot speak due to different circumstances, can call emergency operational services. Rostelecom announced this on March 14, 2025.

"112" is a single number for the whole country, by which you can call the fire medical department, police, ambulance, anti-terror unit and other services. You can call or write to it even in the absence of SIM a card in the phone and with a zero balance. Having accepted the appeal, the operator promptly transmits a signal about the incident to those services that should be involved in the provision of assistance.
For a faster and more effective response, you need to briefly and clearly write what happened - for example, a fire, got lost, an accident. Indicate the place of the event - a settlement, a street, a house number and an apartment. If the exact address is not known, then the landmark is an intersection, a road fork, a kilometer of the highway. You also need to provide the name, first name, patronymic and age of the victim. If there is not enough information in the text message, the Sistema 112 specialist will send a response SMS message with a request to clarify the data.
