The total volume of licenses purchases of domestic operating systems Astra Linux and Alt Linux for the needs of Rosseti through the subsidiary structure of Rosseti Tsygna JSC will amount to ₽139,4 million. This became known in mid-April 2025. According to data from the official portal of public procurement, the relevant tenders were published on April 4, 2025 and provide for the division of the procedure into two separate contracts.
According to CNews, a budget of ₽49,98 million was allocated for the acquisition of the Alt Linux operating system, and ₽89,45 million for the Astra Linux operating system. Applications for participation in both tenders are accepted until April 11, 2025, and the results of electronic auctions will be announced on April 18, 2025.
Rosseti Group is one of the largest power grid holdings in the world, providing power to consumers in 82 regions of Russia. The company manages 2.5 million km of power lines and electrical substations with a total capacity of 877 thousand megavolts-amperes. More than 80% of all electricity generated in the country is transmitted through the networks of the Rosseti Group. The Group includes 45 subsidiaries and affiliates, including 19 distribution network companies. The total number of personnel is about 235 thousand people.
In accordance with the procurement documentation, the energy company plans to purchase licenses for Alt Linux software in the amount of 39 titles. It is planned to purchase both perpetual licenses and licenses with an annual validity period for the Alt Server 10 product, as well as various versions of the Alt SP operating system.
The Astra Linux purchase documentation lists 162 names. Various versions of this operating system are purchased, for example, Astra Linux Special Edition for a 64-bit platform based on the x86-64 architecture with the Maximum security level (Smolensk designation) or Astra Linux Special Edition for a 64-bit platform based on the x86-64 architecture in the Eagle licensing option. Each license has its own validity period.[1]
