2025: Automation of canning labeling

The integrator of effective IT solutions "First Bit" automated the labeling of canned food at the fish processing plant "Santa Maria" without loss in efficiency. This was announced by "First Bit" on May 28, 2025.

Mandatory labeling of canned fish entered into force on December 1, 2024. Manufacturers needed to ensure the processes of ordering, applying and reporting labeling codes in a short time. Before the start of the project, there was no marking system at work, and production accounting was kept in third-party software.

The key tasks were to automate the application of codes on the conveyor line with a capacity of up to 2500 goods per hour, minimize manual labor and adapt the system for employees with different levels of computer literacy. Of particular importance was the observance of strict deadlines - the system was supposed to be launched before December 1, 2024, - said Timofey Demish, head of the industrial labeling department at First Bit in Tomsk.

The First Bit team proposed a comprehensive approach to solving the problem. The solution 1C: Trade Management"" was chosen as the base system, which was supplemented with a collection specialized mobile application BIT.MDT for terminals. data This solution features an intuitive interface that was critical to the customer.

Thus, specialized equipment was installed on the production line: labeling code applicators, manual aggregation stations with code printing and label preflight stations.

The entire implementation process took less than two months and involved several steps. The equipment was previously tested at the First Bit site in Moscow. Installation and training of personnel in production took only two working days. Employees were trained directly at workplaces, which made it possible to minimize downtime.

The implemented solution ensured complete automation of labeling processes without the need for additional personnel. The system allows operators to monitor the process in real time with any deviations recorded within seconds.

An important achievement was full compliance with the requirements of the law - the plant was able to timely prepare for mandatory labeling without the risk of penalties.
