"Somers.POS" - products for receiving payments: POS terminals, proprietary software "Somers" and service services.
2025: Wave Technology Support
Somers (Softline Group of Companies) supported the Wave technology from the National Payment Card System (NSPK). Now the company's software allows you to accept contactless payments on POS terminals via Bluetooth, which is an alternative to Apple Pay. This opens up a way for banks and partner outlets to work with payments without dependence on NFC. Softline announced this on June 23, 2025.
Volna technology has been developed and patented by NSPK. The tool allows the terminal to send a link to pay via Bluetooth. The technology is similar to NFC: when the phone approaches the terminal by up to 20 cm, the application picks up a Bluetooth signal, receives data for payment and invites the buyer to confirm the transaction.
The Somers team implemented the Volna scenario in accordance with the requirements of the regulator: the terminal broadcasts a QR link via Bluetooth, the application receives data on the amount and purpose of payment, the user confirms the operation, and the payment goes through the SBP. To do this, it was necessary to finalize the payment application developed by Somers and adapt the OS of banking terminals.
To complete the task, Somers experts negotiated with the NSPK and implemented protocol support, including software and terminal parts. The team studied the Wave specification in detail, finalized the application payment software of its own design, and then repeatedly tested the stability of the transfer and the correctness of working with different device models.
| The introduction of SBP in trading acquiring is growing, but the current scenario - to open a banking application, log in and read the QR code - has its disadvantages. We are used to the "attach a card" movement, and the "Wave" technology essentially changes the payment scenario through the SBP, bringing it closer to the usual action. This can increase the use of payments under the SBP due to the convenience and naturalness of interaction, - said Alexander Shpet, co-founder of Somers (Softline Group of Companies). |
Volna's support meets market demands: more and more banks include requirements for contactless payment via Bluetooth in the tender documentation. A pre-prepared solution from Somers will allow partners to reduce dependence on foreign NFC solutions and offer customers a flexible and convenient payment method. For retail chains, this means that customers will be able to pay faster and easier, and iOS users will receive an alternative to the usual service.
