2025: Platform Launch
In Russia, a platform of biometric services "Migom" is being created, designed for everyday use. A new line of services based on the Unified Biometric System (EBS) is being developed by the Center for Biometric Technologies ( EBS operator). The press service of the center announced this on November 14, 2024.
According to TASS, the project was presented to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko. The platform includes check-in services to a hotel without a passport, barrier-free passage of pre-flight checks, quick boarding of a train, self-service in multifunctional centers, age confirmation when buying goods with a restriction of 18 + and a number of other services.
Some of the services have already been put into operation, some are undergoing technical tests and user testing. Developers are gradually launching various platform services after checking their health and security. Pilot projects allow you to identify shortcomings and eliminate them before mass implementation.
Vladislav Povolotsky, General Director of the Center for Biometric Technologies, operator of the Unified Biometric System, said that at the same time, work continues on services for quick boarding of trains and airplanes. According to him, it is planned to put them into operation in 2026. These services are designed to significantly speed up the process of passing pre-flight and pre-landing procedures.
Migom services will become an alternative to presenting paper documents. They will significantly reduce service time when receiving government and commercial services. Citizens will be able to identify using biometric data instead of presenting a passport or other documents.
A single connection point is provided for all services. This simplifies the integration of new partners and the expansion of platform functionality. Users access all services through one system without the need for separate registration in each service.[1]
