2025: Appointment as Head of the Department of Health of the Bryansk Region
Tatyana Markina has been appointed Director of the Health Department of the Bryansk Region. The governor of the region, Alexander Bogomaz, introduced the new leader at an operational meeting on December 1, 2025.
According to the press service of the governor and the government of the Bryansk region, the former head of the department, Sergei Galaganov, received a new appointment. He took up the duties of deputy governor of the Bryansk region in the direction of health care. Sergei Galaganov headed the regional health department for four years - from 2021.
Tatyana Markina served as First Deputy Director of the Health Department of the Bryansk Region.
Tatyana Markina completed her studies at the Smolensk Medical Institute. She began her career in medicine as a pediatrician. Then she specialized in allergology and immunology, working in the state budgetary health institution "Bryansk Regional Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS."
Work at the AIDS center required in-depth knowledge of immunology and infectology, as well as skills in working with patients in difficult situations. This experience laid the foundation for further professional growth in the region's health care system, the press service of the Bryansk region government said.
Tatyana Markina headed the department of the organization of compulsory medical insurance, medical care and protection of the rights of those insured in the Territorial Fund of Compulsory Medical Insurance of the Bryansk Region. In this position, she was responsible for coordinating the work of the compulsory medical insurance system in the region and ensuring the rights of patients.
Work in the system of compulsory health insurance gave a deep understanding of the mechanisms for financing health care, the interaction of medical organizations with insurance companies and the protection of the interests of insured citizens. This knowledge is critical to the effective management of the regional health system.[1]
