Project composition, tasks, team preparation and software

To assess all the capabilities of the Russian nanoCAD platform, the engineers went according to the classic piloting scheme: they chose an already built, but not yet commissioned object, according to which there is full approved 2D documentation. It was an apartment building located at Oryol Oblast, d. Zhilina, st. General Lavrov, d. 3. Object parameters: building area - 928 m2, 21 floor, 163 apartments with a total area of ​ ​ 10,786,3 m2.

As part of the pilot project, the following tasks were to be solved:

  • work out the modeling process in the line programs: nanoCAD create a full-fledged digital information model (CIM);
  • evaluate the capabilities of the nanoCAD line Engineering BIM: design communications and check them for collisions;
  • issue detailed design documentation for the finished CIM.

The project team included specialists of various profiles: BIM manager; chief architect of the project, engineer-architect and architect; Lead Design Engineer and Design Engineer leading engineers in the areas of IC and HE, OS, EO; general plan engineer. The product line "Nanosoft" was determined for the project sections: KR, KM - nanoCAD BIM Structures, nanoCAD Metal Structures; HVAC, IC, EOM, SS - nanoCAD Engineering BIM. To create a single CIM - CADLib Model and Archive.

After the training, which took place in a hybrid format (full-time and online) on the basis of the authorized training center "INFARS," the holding's employees quickly connected to the project and began tasks in their sections.

In a short time, the engineers formed an architectural CIM, which was immediately used as a substrate for creating a building structure in nanoCAD BIM Structures and laying engineering networks in highly specialized applications of the nanoCAD Engineering BIM line. The model was tested for various external loads in the LIRA 10 design complex. The next step was to unload the documentation directly from the model. This was implemented in full.

Piloting: first results

The Customer highly appreciated the created information model and its content, which clearly reflects all elements and systems in any projection. At the same time, the specialists receive the design documentation unloaded from the CIM, which has already been drawn up according to Russian standards.

Analyzing the first results of the pilot project, the experts of the ODSK Group of Companies listed a number of advantages of the nanoCAD Platform and products based on it:

  • quick start - minimum necessary settings to start working in the program and comfortable adaptation of engineers to new software;
