2026: Product Announcement

In January 2026, the Hong Kong company Mova presented the world's first flying module for a robot vacuum cleaner at the international consumer electronics show in Las Vegas. The device, called Pilot 70, is a quadcopter-like platform.

The manufacturer has not yet provided comprehensive information about the new device, limiting itself to a short video presentation. According to Mova representatives, the device is designed to reliably transport the cleaning robot through the air to hard-to-reach areas such as the second floor of the building, balconies or the glass roof of the veranda. It is also known that the Pilot 70 is equipped with a flight control system, a combined target detection system and six-stage active protection. The technology allows you to safely and accurately move the vacuum cleaner in space.

Mova's ads say the module exempts cleaning equipment from tying to the floor surface. The manufacturer assures that the development expands the functionality of existing models of robot vacuum cleaners.

Meanwhile, analysts at Smarthome Assistant note the technical complexity of the commercial introduction of such devices. Experts consider the main problems to be the weight and size characteristics of robotic vacuum cleaners and strict rules for the use of drones, especially those equipped with cameras.

Earlier, in 2025, a number of manufacturers, including Mova, demonstrated the concepts of robots capable of moving along stairs. The flying module is the next step in finding solutions for multi-level rooms.

The official timeline for bringing the Pilot 70 to market has not yet been announced. Smarthome Assistant experts believe that the product presentation at CES is primarily aimed at demonstrating the engineering potential of Mova.[1]
