Growth of honey exports by 2.5 times to 1.47 thousand tons

At the end of 2025, Kazakhstan exported 1.47 thousand tons of honey. The figure is 2.5 times higher than the data for 2024. This was announced in February 2026 by the press service of the country's Ministry of Agriculture. Uzbekistan became the leader in the import of Kazakhstani honey - 1 thousand 264 tons, or 85.6% of the total. Honey supplies from Kazakhstan were also carried out to Canada, China, Saudi Arabia, Russia, the United States, for the first time honey was sent to Oman. In the beekeeping regions of the republic there are 241 thousand bee families, 90.2 thousand of them are breeding.[1]

Kazakhstan's foreign trade surplus - $14.2 billion

At the end of 2025, Kazakhstan's foreign trade turnover reached $143.9 billion, an increase of 1.3% compared to the previous year. The relevant data was published by the Bureau of National Statistics on February 16, 2026. The trade surplus amounted to $14.2 billion. The structure of trade recorded a redistribution of shares of the main partners of the republic: with a decrease in the indicators of Russia and Italy, an increase in the share of China was noted.

The volume of exports amounted to $79 billion, reducing by 3.2%. Imports, on the contrary, increased by 7.4%, reaching $64.8 billion. Asia is the leader in the geographical structure of trade with a share of 35.2%. Europe accounts for 33.7%, the CIS countries - 26.7%. America and Africa occupy 3.5% and 0.8%, respectively. Trade with the CIS countries grew by 1.4%, with other countries of the world - by 1.2%.

Kazakhstan ends the year with a foreign trade surplus of $14.2 billion

China strengthened its position, increasing its share in turnover from 21.2% to 23.7%. The share of the Russian Federation decreased from 19.8% to 19%, Italy - from 14% to 11.8%. Collectively, these three states account for 54.5% of all foreign trade in Kazakhstan.

The trade turnover within the framework EEU amounted to $30.9 billion, having slightly decreased (by 0.1%) to the level of 2024. The union accounts for 21.5% of the total trade of the republic. The main buyers of Kazakh products are Italy (19.8% of exports), China (19.2%) and Russia (10.3%). The export structure is dominated by oil and petroleum products (50.5%), radioactive elements (5.3%), refined copper (5.2%), copper ores (3.6%) and ferroalloys (2.6%).[2]

According to Lsm.kz, the volume of Kazakhstan's foreign trade turnover in 2024 reached $141.4 billion, which is 1.3% less than in 2023. The decrease is due to fluctuations in commodity prices and a change in the structure of export-import operations. Despite the decline in overall trade, the country continues to maintain a stable position in international trade.

Exports from Kazakhstan in 2024 grew by 3.1% and reached $81.6 billion, amounting to 57.8% of the total foreign trade turnover. Russia ranked third among the recipient countries of Kazakhstani exports with a volume of $9.5 billion, showing a decrease of 6.4%.

Kazakhstan's export structure is dominated by crude oil and oil products (52.5%), uranium (5.6%), refined copper (5.1%), copper ores and concentrates (3.9%), ferroalloys (3%).[3]
