2022: Russians open most companies with foreign capital in Turkey
Russians opened the most companies with foreign capital in Turkey in 2022. This is evidenced by the data of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of the Republic, which were published in January 2023.
According to published statistics, in 2022, Russians opened 1,363 firms in Turkey out of a total of 20,135 (a record since 2010). Among the companies with Russian participation are 140 joint stock companies and 1223 limited liability companies.
In second place are firms with Iranian capital - 1300, in second place with funds from German citizens - 484.
It is clarified that foreign citizens invested mainly in the wholesale trade sector. 3,070 new companies have opened in this area. In addition, the real estate sector (1,043 companies) and commercial and other services (938) are popular among foreign businessmen in Turkey.
Of the firms with foreign capital registered in Turkey in 2022, 62% fell on Istanbul (12,462 companies). It is followed by Antalya (1,648) and Ankara (821).
In 2022, the head of the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry Davut Chetin told TASS that a real Russian boom in the creation of commercial structures was noted in the Turkish resort. He also spoke about plans to create a second free trade zone in Antalya.
