2022: The number of cases in Moscow courts increased by 250 thousand.
In 2022, 2,808,619 cases and materials were allowed in Moscow courts, which is 250 thousand more than in 2021. Such data in early March 2023 were brought by the chairman of the Moscow City Court Mikhail Ptitsyn to a meeting on the results of the work of the capital's magistrates and district courts.
According to the statistics presented, the burden on the magistrate in the considered cases increased by 7%. This increase was mainly due to civil cases by 20% and criminal cases by 14%, the chairman of the Moscow City Court emphasized.
In criminal cases, the main category for consideration by magistrates remains crimes against property (50%, 85% of which are related to the secret theft of property).
In civil cases, justices of the peace have finished 20% more cases. The most numerous categories remain disputes over the collection of debt under contracts - 57% (an increase of 1/3); on the collection of payments for living space and utility bills, heat and electricity - 32%, in these categories of proceedings almost all requirements are satisfied.
The number of cases of an administrative offense in the district courts of Moscow increased by 14%. The most common categories were cases related to violation by a foreign citizen or stateless person of the rules of entry into Russia or the regime of stay.
According to Vedomosti, in 2022, 129,024 cases and materials were allowed only within the walls of the Moscow City Court. In turn, the district courts of Moscow completed 13% more cases compared to 2021, of which 27% of cases were considered in a special order (provides for the recognition of guilt by the defendants), and 60 people received an acquittal, 10 more convicts were acquitted in the appellate instance of the city court.[1]
