The Moscow City Court was established in 1932. It is the highest judicial body of the city of Moscow in civil, criminal, administrative and other cases, judicial courts of general jurisdiction. As a court of first instance, it considers cases referred by federal laws to the competence of courts at the level of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation. It is an appellate, cassation instance for district courts and in some cases a supervisory instance - for magistrates of the city of Moscow.

2023: How is the digitalization of the Moscow City Court

On July 27, 2023, the press service of the Moscow courts of general jurisdiction spoke about some digitalization projects in the Moscow City Court, as well as the results of their implementation. First of all, we are talking about electronic document management technologies.

It is noted that in order to increase the availability of justice for citizens of the capital, the Moscow City Court, together with the mayor's office, developed and implemented a project that allowed citizens to use access to the service of submitting documents to the courts of general jurisdiction in electronic form through the official portal "Moscow City Court" in all multifunctional centers of the city. In each MPSC, along with other services, it became possible to submit a claim to the selected court in electronic form, get acquainted with the materials of the electronic case, the audio protocol of the court session, and receive electronic executive documents.

Building of the Moscow City Court

In January-June 2023, the number of personal offices of citizens registered on the external portal of courts of general jurisdiction of the city of Moscow increased by 15 thousand and exceeded 345 thousand. It is also reported that almost 300 thousand electronic documents were submitted to the websites of Moscow courts in six months.

The press service of the Moscow courts of general jurisdiction also cited data according to which more than 13 thousand court hearings were held in the city courts using video conferencing in the first half of 2023, more than 145 thousand were sent to the participants in the processes. SMS notifications about the time and place of meetings, 2.8 million hybrid shipments, while cash savings amounted to more than 62 million rubles. As part of the interdepartmental interaction between the Moscow courts, almost 20 thousand electronic writ of execution were sent to the Federal Bailiff Service (FSIN[1]
