2024: Global Digital Battlefield Technology Market Size Reaches $53.45 Billion

At the end of 2024, the costs in the global technology market for the digital battlefield (Digital Battlefield) amounted to $53.45 billion. Almost half of the indicated amount fell on the North American region. This is stated in a study by Fortune Business Insights, the results of which were published on October 1, 2025.

By digital battlefield, analysts mean integrating cutting-edge digital technology into military operations to improve situational awareness and decision-making processes as well as combat efficiency. This approach involves the use of various hardware components, including sensors, communication devices and specialized equipment, as well as software for data analysis and control. In addition, the Digital Battlefield concept provides for the use of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), robotics and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), 5G networks, cloud computing, big data analytics, augmented (AR) and virtual (VR) reality. One of the components of the digital battlefield is ibervoyna: these are complex attacks aimed at enemy computer systems and networks for the purpose of espionage, incapacitating critical resources, etc.

The authors of the study call the rapid development of AI a significant market driver. Such algorithms are implemented in a variety of military platforms - from surveillance and reconnaissance to the identification of targets and autonomous combat systems. AI tools are used to analyze huge amounts of data, which ensures predictive analytics and more efficient decision-making. Neural networks expand the capabilities of drones, autonomous ground vehicles and robotic complexes, which, thanks to AI, are able to function in difficult conditions. The development of AI-based solutions also helps automate various military tasks and reduce the burden on operators. In addition, AI technologies help in the development of next-generation cyber defense systems capable of detecting and responding to cyber attacks in real time.

Another stimulating factor is technological advances, including the launch of new satellites for intelligence collection, the creation of next-generation UAVs, the introduction of highly efficient IoT systems, etc. The development of the industry is facilitated by the escalation of geopolitical tensions and the growing level of armed conflicts around the world. States are investing heavily in modernizing their military capabilities to counter emerging threats and provide battlefield advantage. At the same time, great attention is paid to digital solutions.

Analysts segment the market into hardware, software and services. In 2024, the first of these sectors provided the largest share of revenue, while services accounted for 22.46%. From a geographical point of view, North America leads with 47.6% of total costs, or $25.46 billion. Globally, significant industry players are named:

In 2025, the market size is expected to reach $64.56 billion. Fortune Business Insights analysts believe that in the future, the CAGR will be 15.3%. Thus, by 2032, costs may increase to $209.57 billion.[1]
