GOST P 55.0.05-2016 Standard "Asset management. Increase in security and reliability of assets"

Rosstandart approved in the spring of 2016 for voluntary application the GOST P 55.0.05-2016 standard developed by NPP Spectec "Asset management. Increase in security and reliability of assets". The standard becomes effective since October 1, 2016.

The standard was developed under the public contract, in pursuance of the Program of development of national standards for 2015-2016, the cipher of subject 1.0.086-1.001.15. The notification on development of the standard was published on the website of Rosstandart on May 22, 2015. Further the public discussion of the standard which came to the end on October 8, 2015 and also preparation of a final version taking into account the arrived notes of interested persons followed.

The final version of the standard was considered at a meeting of Technical committee on standardization No. 086 Asset management in November, 2015 according to the results of which it is decided to send to Federal Agency for Technical Regulation of Metrology the offer on the approval of the standard. The standard is approved by the order of Rosstandart No. of 179 St of March 17, 2016.

The standard belongs to the GOST P 55.0.00 series which scope is asset management. Assets in this case are understood as physical assets to which carry machines, technology equipment, stocks and a real estate belonging to the organization. Assets significantly influence achievement of goals of the organization, and require the optimized management at all stages of their lifecycle.

At an operational phase of assets with the major task their maintenance in the status providing an optimal ratio between accomplishment by assets of their functions, risk of non-performance of these functions, and finance costs necessary for this purpose is.

The specified optimum is provided at reliability-oriented maintenance (RCM, Reliability-Centered Maintenance). The new standard sets requirements to an order of the choice of an asset management method at an operational phase within methodology of RCM. Its requirements extend to activities for planning of the actions providing accomplishment with assets of their functions in the set context.
