2025: Standard Approval
The Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology has approved three national standards for the general information model of robots for the unification of software interaction between robots and their control systems. This was announced by Rosstandart on December 18, 2025.
Orders of the department approved the following standards:
- GOST R 60.0.0.22-2025 "Robots and Robotic Devices. General information model. Terms and Definitions ";
- GOST R 60.0.0.23-2025 "Robots and Robotic Devices. General information model. General Provisions ";
- GOST R 60.0.7.6-2025 "Robots and Robotic Devices. General information model. Description of the general information model. "
The information model in industrial robotics is a common set of rules for software interaction between robots and their control systems. The model allows you to unify the software language of communication between robots and control systems. This makes it possible to implement comprehensive industrial projects and ensure the system integration of robotics into other automated systems.
An important task in the development of standards was to take into account the peculiarities of the industrial market of the Russian Federation. Applying standards will make it easier for manufacturers and integrators to develop compatible solutions. The time required to adapt technologies to specific consumers will be reduced.
The introduction of standards will contribute to the emergence at enterprises of mixed parks of robots with technologies from different manufacturers. As a result, companies will be able to implement new robots faster, and automation costs will decrease. Innovations will avoid difficulties associated with the fragmentation of technological solutions, the lack of uniform protocols and fixed concepts.
Valery Piven, Director of the Machine Tool and Heavy Engineering Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, noted that the development of uniform standards for software integration is an important step to increase the technological maturity of the industry. According to him, this creates conditions for the large-scale introduction of industrial robotics at Russian enterprises.[1]
