Wholesale sales of mirrors in Russia soared by 56% over the year and reached 5.44 billion rubles
In 2024, sales in the wholesale mirror market in Russia reached 5.44 billion rubles, an increase of 56% compared to 2023. This was announced in the analytical company Alto Consulting Group (ACG) in January 2026.
Analysts attribute the significant growth of the mirror segment to the recovery in demand for construction and finishing materials, an increase in housing construction and repairs, as well as an increase in consumption of mirror products in the household and commercial sectors.
The undisputed leader in production was the Volga Federal District, which accounted for 48.8% of the total. This concentration is due to the presence of large glass processing and mirror production enterprises, as well as a developed logistics infrastructure. Significant production volumes were also provided by the Central and Northwestern Federal Districts, focusing on the supply of large cities and regions.
The report separately noted the dynamics of prices. The average price of manufacturers for a mounted bathroom mirror in the period from 2022 to 2024 increased by 41%, increasing from 1,463 rubles to 2,062,2 rubles apiece. In September 2025, this indicator continued to grow, rising by 0.4% compared to August and reaching 2,255 rubles apiece. This reflects continued demand and moderate inflation in the industry.
ACG analysts predict moderate growth in mirror production in the coming years. Its drivers will be the expansion of housing construction, the renewal of the furniture park and the growing demand for high-quality products. It is expected that the Volga Federal District will maintain its leading position, however, the role of the Central and North-Western Districts will increase due to the modernization of production facilities. Automation, range expansion, logistics optimization and state support for domestic manufacturers are the key areas of industry development.[1]
The production of double-glazed windows in Russia over the year increased by 1.1% to 23 million square meters. m.
The production of double-glazed windows in Russia in 2024 reached 22,955,8 thousand square meters. m, which exceeded the previous year's figure by 1.1%. This is evidenced by the data of the analytical company Alto Consulting Group, released in October 2025.
A slight increase in volumes was the result of a complex of changes in the industry. The largest share in the production structure was taken by the Central Federal District - 27.4%, which is due to the concentration of large factories and high demand in the capital region.
Analysts identified three factors for increasing the output of the reason for the growth in production indicators:

2022: Production decline by 15% to 228m sqm
In 2022, 228 million square meters of glass were manufactured in Russia, which is 15% less than a year earlier. The decline came after 11.6 percent market growth in 2021. This is evidenced by data from BusinesStat analysts, released in August 2023.
According to experts, glass production in the Russian Federation has decreased due to weakening demand in both domestic and foreign markets. In the domestic market, the main decline in demand for glass was due to a drop in sales of double-glazed windows in the secondary housing segment, which was influenced by the uncertainty of the population's expectations regarding the future economic situation due to the anti-Russian sanctions imposed. Demand for glass from the domestic automotive industry, which was hit hard by the departure of major global players, also fell significantly. At the same time, an increase in sales due to active housing construction, which peaked in 2022, was kept from an even greater drop in demand for glass in the domestic market.
Russian glass production is also largely dependent on demand in foreign markets. So, over the past five years, more than 20% of the products produced were exported annually, according to a study published in August 2023. The minimum value of the share of exports in production - 16.5% - was noted just in 2022.
A significant share of Russian production is occupied by factories owned by large foreign glass brands. Among them, analysts distinguish AGC Glass Group, Pilkington, Guardian, Trakya Glass, Fuyao Glass. In 2022, AGC Glass Group stopped investing in Russian business, and also reduced the supply of its products, NSG Group (Pilkington) suspended commercial operations in Russia, the Guardian announced its departure from the country, the activities of Trakya Glass and Fuyao Glass remained unchanged.[7]
