2024: 28.7% increase in the production of plastic furniture and car fittings to 210.9 thousand tons

The production of plastic fittings in Russia in 2024 increased by 28.7% and reached 210.9 thousand tons. This was announced by the analytical company Alto Consulting Group in October 2025.

This is one of the most notable growth rates in the plastics recycling segment in recent years. Against the background of the recovery of the production sector and an increase in demand for furniture, components and accessories, Russian enterprises entered the trajectory of sustainable expansion.

The main center of production was Central Russia. It accounts for about 50.5% of the total output. The high concentration of enterprises in the Moscow, Vladimir and Kaluga regions is explained by the developed logistics, the availability of personnel and proximity to the largest sales markets.

Analysts have identified several reasons for the growth in the production of plastic fittings:

• active growth of domestic demand for domestic furniture;
• technological modernization of industry enterprises;
• introduction of energy-efficient and environmentally friendly solutions into production;
• transition to localized supplies of raw materials and forms;
• expanding export destinations to the CIS and Eastern Europe;
• increasing demand for plastic products for transport and construction needs;
• introduction of automated injection molding lines and technologies;
• an increase in the number of closed-loop enterprises;
• strengthening the role of design and ergonomics in the manufacture of fittings;
• transition to the use of secondary polymers.

The growth of volumes is also associated with the development of related industries - furniture, automotive and construction, where plastic fittings and decorative elements are actively used. A separate area is the production of figurines, souvenirs and other plastic products in demand in the decor and corporate gifts segment.^[1]
