Libretto

Grigory Potemkin ruled the syllable in the text of Catherine II's opera "Oleg's Initial Management" [1]and in other plays.

Music

Catherine II wished the composer Domenico Cimarosa to compose music for her drama on the early history of Russia called "Oleg's Initial Management," but he worked too slowly, so she replaced him with Giuseppe Sarti, who wrote the opera with Vasily Pashkevich and Milan musician Carlo Cannobio. The premiere took place on October 15 (according to other sources 22), 1790 at the Hermitage Theater.

The music of the opera is stored in the library of the St. Petersburg State Conservatory named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov
