2023: Growth of tourist flow by 26.3% to 1.5 million people
The number of tourists who visited Kabardino-Balkaria in 2023 reached 1.5 million people, which exceeded the figures for 2022 by 26.3%. Almost a million vacationers chose the Elbrus region for recreation. This is evidenced by the data of the republican Ministry of Resorts and Tourism, which TAdviser got acquainted with in early December 2024.
The volume of services provided in the tourism sector of the republic at the end of 2023 amounted to ₽13 billion, and tax deductions reached ₽1,038 billion, which is twice as much as in 2023. The number of accommodation facilities increased by 58.5%, which allows you to accept up to 17.1 thousand vacationers at a time.
Within the framework of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry," more than 60 projects have been implemented in the region with a total investment of over ₽260 million. These funds were used to equip beaches, year-round swimming pools, children's and sports complexes, campsites and car camps were built.
The federal resort "Nalchik," where 21 sanatorium-resort institutions operate, received about 40 thousand vacationers. Popular with tourists are also the Chegem Gorge with the center of mountaineering "Bezengi," Blue Lakes and Upper Balkaria in the Chereksky Gorge, the tract Dzhila-Su.
In winter, the region attracts ski lovers, and in summer it becomes a center of attraction for climbers and tourists who prefer active recreation in the mountains. In their free time from medical procedures, guests of sanatoriums can get acquainted with the sights of the republic.
The implementation of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry" aims to increase the number of travel in Russia by 2030 to 140 million per year. The project provides for the creation of a comfortable and safe tourism infrastructure to ensure economic growth through the development of the industry.[1]
