2024: Construction begins

On December 5, 2024, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced a project to create a large business center worth tens of billions of rubles in Kommunarka. We are talking about an analogue of the Moscow City complex.

Now we are launching a project, in fact, the City for New Moscow, this is in Kommunarka. There will be high-rise buildings, by type, as we see in the City, a little lower. But there will also be a lot of jobs in terms of concentration, "Sobyanin said.

The new analogue of Moscow City will become part of the Kommunarka administrative and business center (ADC). It includes office areas and residential areas, as well as all the necessary infrastructure, including social facilities and service institutions.

The placement of a high-density multifunctional building of the ADC will allow effective use of territories with the maximum amount of investment space in combination with comfortable public spaces. It is planned to integrate the designed territory into a single citywide transport service system in Moscow through the construction of highways, a metro line and a light rail line. In addition, a typology of parking spaces of a new type has been developed to ensure a rational system for storing vehicles.

In the summer of 2023, the head of the Department for the Development of New Territories of the city of Moscow, Vladimir Zhidkin, said that about 500 billion rubles of investments would be required to implement the ADC project. On the territory of the center in 469 hectares it is planned to build about 7 million square meters of real estate. Moreover, for each square meter of housing there will be about 6 square meters of office and business space.

In fact, a second City will be formed in Kommunarka, only slightly inferior in scale and importance to this business quarter. The implementation of the project will give Moscow more than 160 thousand jobs, - said Zhidkin.[1]
