The corruption scheme was attended by the deputy head of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional TCC and two employees of the district military registration and enlistment office. All three suspects offered the dodgers the opportunity to obtain an electronic code for identification in the Obereg system, which allowed to delay or avoid conscription. The investigation found that bribes ranged from 2,000 hryvnia to $1,000, depending on the complexity and urgency of resolving the issue.

The deputy head of the regional TCC was detained near his place of work while receiving a bribe in the amount of $1,000 for providing a code for deferral in the digital register of military prisoners. The other two detainees - the head of the district TCC and an employee of the security company of the same center - were also caught receiving bribes for a similar amount.

Operational actions to arrest were carried out by the forces of the Department of Strategic Investigations of the Ivano-Frankivsk Region together with employees of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and with the support of the specialized prosecutor's office for defense of the Western Region. All suspects were charged under Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - "Acceptance of a proposal, promise or receipt of unlawful benefit by an official." They face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property and deprivation of the right to hold certain positions for up to three years.[1]
