The survey was conducted in 80 regions of the country, 1,600 Russians were covered. According to the data received, at the end of 2021, the awareness of Russians about melanoma remained at the level of 2019 - 65% against 64% in 2019. But in general, he assessed the awareness of people about melanoma as satisfactory.

Melanoma is the most dangerous type of cancer, accounting for every eighth case of detected cancer, - commented on the data of Lev Demidov (Melanoma. Pro). - The earlier the neoplasm is detected, the easier it is to cure. To do this, you need to notice the first signs of the disease in time and establish the correct diagnosis.

In 2021, free screenings were carried out to detect malignant neoplasms in 4 cities - Chelyabinsk, Zlatoust, Magnitogorsk and Novosibirsk. In total, 3,045 people passed the examination, malignant neoplasms were found in 26 cases, - said Alexander Kuzichev, acting head of the business unit "Oncology" of BIOCAD. - In 2022, inspections will continue, screenings will be held in 5 federal districts of Russia.
