The total revenue of Ozon Holdings PLC in 2024 increased by 45% to ₽615,7 billion. The company's loss in 2024 reached ₽59,44 billion rubles, which is 39% higher than the cash losses of a year ago. The company published its statements on February 27, 2025.

As noted in the retailer's message, in 2023 Ozon demonstrated accelerated development, reflecting an increase in seller activity and an increase in order volumes. The company's adjusted EBITDA in 2024 grew more than sixfold to ₽40,1 billion from ₽6,4 billion a year earlier. The company's gross profit for 2024 increased by 126% to ₽99,9 billion. Such significant growth was provided by an increase in revenue from services and interest revenue. In particular, revenue from the provision of services increased by 52% and reached ₽368,6 billion due to the expansion of the line of services for marketplace sellers.

Turnover (GMV), including services, showed growth of 64% and exceeded ₽2,875 trillion. An important factor that ensured this growth was the increase in the activity of entrepreneurs on the platform. Their turnover on Ozon in 2024 increased by 69%, and the share in the total turnover of the marketplace reached 85.4%. China practically does not compete with Russian manufacturers either in terms of key categories and delivery times, or in terms of market volume, Ozon believes.

However, Ozon experts note increased competition from Chinese sellers, especially for the price factor. Thus, the general director of Infoline Analytics Mikhail Burmistrov predicts that by the end of 2024 the share of turnover of Chinese sellers on Ozon will decrease to 2% against 3% in the first quarter of 2024.

File:Aquote1.png
Russian sellers in most cases are against "Chinese expansion" for several reasons. Chinese sellers compete in price, as well as assign photos and descriptions of successful commodity cards and use them in their sales, - said Sergey Semko, senior analyst at Data Insight.

The owner of the online store of children's toys Artem Ivanov told the newspaper that he was forced to abandon about 200 positions due to competition with the Chinese, since it was unprofitable to sell at a price comparable to their prices.

At the same time, the Chinese sellers themselves cannot become major players due to the long delivery times and difficulties in promoting goods on the site, expert Maxim Gralnik believes.[3]
