2024: How is the digitalization of Perm as a "smart city"
Perm Territory entered the top 10 leaders of the Russian rating on the digitalization index "IQ cities." In particular, the region was awarded an award in the nomination "for the greatest activity." This was announced on June 14, 2024 by the local government.
The IQ Cities Index assesses the level of digitalization of the urban economy of the regions of Russia in such areas as urban management, smart housing and communal services, innovations for the urban environment, etc. It is said that in the category "Largest Cities" Perm was in fifth place. In this nomination, the capital of Prikamye bypassed Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk, Krasnoyarsk and Samara. At the same time, the Perm District got into the top 10 category "Big Cities."
The report emphasizes that the absolute leader of the Perm Territory was in the category "Administrative Centers": the top five included the Chernushinsky District, the urban settlement of Koltsovo and the Krasnokamsky District. Subsequent places were taken by the Kungur district, Tchaikovsky, Lysva and Solikamsk.
As part of the implementation of the Smart City project in the Perm Territory, new buses and trams are being commissioned, which are equipped with modern technologies, including a cashless payment system. In addition, smart public transport stops are being installed. Means of monitoring and quality control of heat supply, water supply and sanitation at municipal facilities are being introduced. Smart solutions are also used in the design and construction of buildings.
To introduce digital technologies in the Perm Territory, a Coordination Center has been created, which provides methodological support to municipal districts. He analyzes federal programs and forms a database of the best municipal practices for the implementation of digital technologies in the urban economy, helping small settlements to deploy solutions without unnecessary labor. In general, the result of digitalization was the ability to optimize consumption and payment for housing and communal services, payment for travel using a card and application, installation of 55 smart stops with Wi-Fi and more than 10 thousand energy-efficient lamps.[1]
