2020: RSK is in the lead in the rating of Top50 of supercomputers of Russia and the CIS on number of projects
On March 31, 2020 it became known that the RSK group announced that in the last 32 editions of rating Top50 of the most powerful supercomputers at Russia and the CIS (it is announced on March 31, 2020) there are 11 computer systems of production of RSK group. The share of the company in this list makes 22%, i.e. every fifth supercomputer which is in the rating of Top50 is developed and installed by specialists of RSK.
After planned upgrade supercomputer "The polytechnician – the RSK Tornado" in SPbPU, carried out at the beginning of 2020, this system reserved the fifth line of Top50 list. Its peak capacity grew to level 1.15 PFLOPS (petaFLOPS – one quadrillion transactions with a floating comma per second, or 1000 TFLOPS). According to the industrial LINPACK test the maximum capacity of this supercomputer of SPbPU grew to 801.63 TFLOPS.
After the next planned upgrade of the MVS-10P OP2 supercomputer in JSCC RAS which is carried out at the end of 2019 according to the program of development of the centers of collective use implemented by the Ministry of science and the higher education of the Russian Federation, this system rose by the 12th line of rating Top50. Its peak capacity grew more than twice, having reached 427.6 TFLOPS. At the same time on the industrial LINPACK test the maximum capacity of this supercomputer JSCC RAS grew to 292.8 TFLOPS.
Among key customers of RSK there are organizations of the highest educations the Russian (leading universities) and sciences, research centers, laboratories and design offices. From other projects of the company are present at the current Top50 list hyper convergent Govorun supercomputer Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (the 11th position), computing systems Southern Ural State University (the 14 and 30 place), MIPT The RSK Tornado — supercomputer of Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (the 44th position), the NKS-1P computing system of the Siberian supercomputer center Institute of calculus mathematics and mathematical geophysics of the Siberian department Russian Academy of Sciences takes the 49th place[1].
2018: Rapid growth of capacity of supercomputers in rating
According to data of the fresh 28th edition (spring of 2018) of Top-50 list of the most powerful computers of the CIS provided RCC of Lomonosov Moscow State University and JSCC RAS within the International scientific conference "Parallel Computing Technologies (PAVT) 2018" the noticeable increase in productivity of systems entering the list was outlined[2].
Gross performance of systems from Top-50 list on the Linpack test for half a year grew with 8.7 PFLOPS ((1015) of quadrillion transactions with a floating point per second) to 10.7 PFLOPS. Gross peak capacity of the systems of the list at the same time reached 17.4 PFLOPS though half a year ago in the previous edition of the list it made only 13.4 PFLOPS.
In total for half a year which passed from the publication of the previous rating Top-50, the list was replenished with nine absolutely new supercomputers, and seven systems from the list underwent large-scale updating. These indicators, according to originators of Top-50, are a record for the last six years.
Requests for entry into rating was more, but not all systems overcame a lower limit of performance: entry into the current edition Top-50 required performance on the Linpack test not less than 42.6 TFLOPS against 38.1 TFLOPS in the previous edition.
Originators of rating note that the main changes in the latest revision Top-50 fell not on leaders of the list, but on systems with a performance of 50-70 TFLOPS. It means that the supercomputer in Russia became rather mass phenomenon, and its performance is put not for the sake of records, but already taking into account requirements and financial opportunities of the customer.
The Russian science and education remained the main consumers of supercomputer capacities, at them, as well as in former edition, 18 systems from rating were necessary. The quantity of systems for specific application studies decreased from 16 to 14. The number of the HPC systems in the industry was also a little reduced – from five to four; the number of systems in financial area remained equal to three.
By quantity of the systems entering the list, the Hewlett-Packard Enterprise company - 13 systems, as well as in last edition remained the leader. It is followed by the RSK group with 12 systems which added for half a year to rating one more supercomputer. Top three is closed by T-Platforms company with 11 systems against seven systems in last edition. On the fourth place IBM with five systems was placed (seven in last rating). For the first time in the list there were four systems as which producer Nvidia appears.
2015

2013: The rating of 50 largest supercomputers in Russia
2009
September, 2009
In September, 2009 the research computer center of Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Interdepartmental Supercomputer Center RAS provided the eleventh edition Top-50 of supercomputers of the CIS countries. The list, as well as last time, headed the MVS-100K supercomputer with a power of 71.28 teraflop installed in the Interdepartmental Supercomputer Center RAS. 1980 4-core Intel Xeon processors with the total number of cores of 7920 are its part. The computer is developed by Hewlett-Packard company. Peak capacity of a system is 95.04 teraflop.
On the second place — the SCYTHIAN supercomputer of MSU Chebyshev constructed based on a blade servers of T-Platforms company. This system including 1250 4-core Intel Xeon processors is set in Research computer center of MSU, its performance is 47.32 teraflop (the 60th teraflop — peak). From the moment of installation in 2008, computing powers of the supercomputer are completely loaded and even their shortage is noted.
The first twenty was left without changes. The fifth time in a row the T-Platforms company with 16 supercomputers presented in the list became the leader of the rating by quantity of systems. Children of Hewlett-Packard are 12 systems, IBM — 10.
The eleventh edition of the list showed the minimum gain of capacity of supercomputers for lifetime of rating. Overall performance of systems on the Linpack test for half a year grew from 382.6 teraflop to 387.1 teraflop. Five systems which entered the list are new or upgraded.
Among the new and upgraded systems – the 1.51 teraflop supercomputer installed in the Center of cluster technologies of T-Platforms company. In the new edition he took the 39th place, having risen by 7 positions up comparison with the previous edition. It is the only system in Russia which is completely constructed based on 9-core PowerXCell 8i processors. In total them in system 64, and number of cores — 576 pieces.
The number of computers with an actual performance more than 1 TFLOPS in the new list grew from 47 to 49, and the lower bound of the top ten on performance remained at the level of 12.36 teraflop. In the new list the number of the systems used in science and education – with 30 to 31 increased, and the number of the systems used for application studies decreased from 10 to 9. Getting into Top-50 list requires higher performance now — not less than 978 gigaflop (924.4 gigaflop in the previous edition).
Shares of producers of processors in new rating did not change: 37 systems are constructed based on Intel processors, 7 systems – on AMD processors, 5 systems – IBM and one – based on processors of Hewlett-Packard.

10 most powerful computers of Russia according to Supercomputers.ru for March, 2009
The rating of Top500 to put it mildly not just over truly displays the valid state of affairs in the Russian market. An exit was found the Russian company "T-Platforms", MSTs of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Research Computer Center (RCC) of Lomonosov Moscow State University. Having connected the efforts, they created the rating of the most powerful supercomputers of Russia and the CIS which is also updated each half a year and is based on the same LinPack test reflecting the speed of the solution of a bulky linear equation system. This rating supports 50 most productive (in terms of the solution of linear equations) systems in Russia and helps to estimate development of the industry of high-performance computing in our country.
It is in details possible to study this rating onthe website www.supercomputers.ru. But already by the first consideration of Tor50 it is possible to reveal those trends which directly demonstrate development of HPC in Russia. For example, the interesting fact is that the HP company delivering today to Russia the greatest number of the high-performance systems does only 22% of installations while the Russian producer "T-Platforms" executes 20%. Of course, financially these indicators are incomparable (considering a difference in quotations of the companies stated above). But the quantitative factor demonstrates that our country can assemble supercomputers independently. The latest revision Tor50 showed that the number of the supercomputers which are used in the financial sector grew from 18% to 30%, and in relation to industrial enterprises this indicator changed from 34% to 44% that speaks about good dynamics in mastering of high technologies by the Russian companies.
The supercomputer with a performance of 100 trillion transactions from a floating comma per second (100 Tflops) made by HP company and Open Technologies integrator began to be built in JSCC RAS in 2007.
The MVS-100K supercomputer reached the peak capacity of 95 Tflops (real, according to the Linpack test, made 71.2), became the most powerful computer of Russia and took the 33rd place of the world ranking of Top500. It is interesting that building of a cluster up to 45 Tflops was carried out without stopping calculations. MVS-100K is brought together from 470 blade servers of production of HP, each of which contains two 4-core Intel Xeon processors 5365. RAM of the computer — about 2.3TB, the disk array — about 50 TB. The 45-Tflopsny cluster under control of CentOS, a free clone of Red Hat Enterprise Linux works. Look at Russian the supercomputer Tflops with a performance of 45 the press were allowed for the first time. In due time the management RAS ISC (Interdepartmental Supercomputer Center) "did not find it necessary" to organize the public presentation to this cluster. First, from modesty inherent in scientific community, and secondly, to carry out to it the press it was difficult. Computer center of RAS — an object, after all, regime. According to CNews, in its walls the website www.kremlin.ru is hosted, for example. However, though MSTs does not sell machine time, providing it to non-paid academic institutes, the need for expansion of a cluster is already now. There are also empty cabinets for installation of new blade servers costing in one line with working racks, however to complete confidence that this year they will be filled while is not present. In spite of the fact that does not pursue records of MSTs, along its corridors certificates of rating of Top500 are hanging. How many them at MSTs, his employees offhand cannot tell, but on walls of the center they can be counted 12 (the rating of Top500 confirms that there are so much them and should be there).
(And at once on the 74th place), in November, 2002 MBC1000 having Tflops with a performance of 1.024 (0.735 Tflops according to Linpack) became the first computer JSCC RAS which got to Top500. He was brought together on 768 DEC овских Alpha processors, and in the graph "producer" at it Self-made appeared. MBC15000 (performance of 10.1 Tflops in dive, real — 6.6) was a predecessor of a present cluster in the list of Ranovsky supercomputers in 2006. After construction MVS-100K scattered it on regions. Racks of once uniform, and nowadays distributed cluster stand in 5 cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Vladivostok and Chernogolovke.
