2023: Mishustin decrees annual robot battle championship

In April 2023, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree approving the annual international robot battle championship. The corresponding document is published on the portal of legal information.

On March 21, 2023, the Ministry of Digital Engineering of the Russian Federation launched on the State Public services portal accepting applications for participation in the international championship of engineering teams "Battle of Robots." In addition to the department itself, Promobot and Double Yu Expo became co-organizers of the championship.

As part of the competition, the task of the teams is to come up with and design a robot that meets the requirements of the regulations, and control it to win fights. Competition regulations:

• the team must be between 3 and 5 people;
• the dimensions of the robot should not be more than 120 x 120 x 120 cm, and the weight should not be more than 110 kg.

The winner will receive a prize of 2 million rubles. There are certain requirements for the participants of the "Battle of Robots." The application must be submitted before April 20, 2023, and 48 teams are allowed to compete.

Mishustin instructed the Ministry of Digital Science to prepare and hold the event, as well as to form a committee that will include interested federal authorities and organizations. Within a month, the committee must approve the concept, the regulations of the championship, as well as the regulations of technical expertise. The purpose of the international championship in the battle of robots is to popularize engineering in Russia "as a driver for the development and support of modern digital technologies."

In addition, the organizing committee of the championship within a month was instructed to ensure the approval, in particular, of the concept of its holding, of the regulations. The federal executive authorities, which are responsible for educational organizations of higher education, will need to inform these organizations about the championship.
