Unified digital platform of agro-industrial and fishery complexes in Russia

2026: Platform Announcement

In January 2026, the development of a single digital platform for the agro-industrial and fishery complexes of Russia was announced. It will be based on artificial intelligence technologies. The corresponding instructions following the results of the sectoral strategic session, held in November 2025, were given by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

As indicated on the government portal, the platform will ensure the unification of state information systems, the introduction of a service model for managing the agro-industrial complex and will contribute to the dissemination of knowledge, including educational programs and scientific innovations.

A single AI platform of agro-industrial and fishery complexes is being created in Russia

It is entrusted to Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Digital Development, Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Finance, Rosselkhoznadzor and Rosrybolovstvo to conduct work on the platform. The deadline is December 30, 2026, the interim report must be submitted by July 1 of the same year.

A separate block of orders concerns the financing of technological developments. The Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Finance, together with the Ministry of Education and Science, need to submit proposals on priority state support for projects to introduce innovations in the agro-industrial complex by April 29, 2026. In addition, until May 18, 2026, the same departments with the participation of the Ministry of Economic Development were instructed to study the mechanism in which part of the income tax of companies that have introduced new technologies into the agro-industrial complex will be directed to finance developers for further research.

By November 2, 2026, with the participation of the Ministry of Natural Resources, a scientific and technical program to increase soil fertility, create artificial soils and restore state protective forest strips should be considered. In parallel, the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Agriculture, together with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, were instructed to develop proposals to expand the motivation system for researchers.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
