In 2017, the province of Valencia accounted for 6% of the total number of home purchase and sale transactions in Spain. Compared to the previous year, their number increased by 21%.

94% of transactions in Valencia, according to the real estate agency CBRE, are made in the secondary market. Growth in this segment has been observed since 2014, with dynamics averaging 15% annually. Almost half of residential real estate transactions (47%) took place in three municipalities: Valencia, Torrente and Paterne.

A successful Civil Guard operation to capture criminals, codenamed Rovisa, was carried out with the support of the Polícia de Segurança Pública de Portugal, as well as the Albanian police.

Operation Rovisa began in March 2022 when several robberies were reported in the Salamanca area of northwestern Spain.

The spate of house robberies caused great social anxiety among locals in the area, and the Civil Guard suspected that those responsible for them could also be responsible for other similar robberies across the country.

A subsequent investigation found that gang members were entering and leaving Spain through the Portuguese capital Lisbon.

The Civil Guard requested support from both Portuguese and Albanian authorities, and all three forces were coordinated by the European police agency Europol.
