2021: Russian schoolchildren won 17 medals at the international robotics competition
In early September 2021, Russian schoolchildren won 17 medals at the Youth Robot Competition (IYRC) 2021 International Robotics Competitions. The competition, which was held in online format due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, was organized in South Korea by the International Association of Children's Robotics IYRA.
Russians in the younger age group have five gold, three silver and four bronze medals IYRC 2021, in the older age group two gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
Among the winners are schoolchildren from St. Petersburg and Murmansk, who presented a charger that can be useful to scientists during expeditions to Antarctica. It is embedded in the outerwear and works due to the difference in body temperatures and the environment. Another project recognized as the winner is the model of the ship "Ocean of Friendship." It is designed to clean the ocean of garbage and is represented by teenagers from the city of Balakhna, Nizhny Novgorod region. In addition, the medal was received by a model of a robotic shadow theater created by a team from Serov, Sverdlovsk Region.
According to the terms of the competition, the participants needed to design a robot, record a video and send a link to it to the organizing committee. More than 200 schoolchildren from 15 countries participated in the competition.
In early September 2021 Government of the Russian Federation , it included robotics among the most promising areas for students. Students studying in professions and specialties from this list can apply for government scholarships. Russia These fellowships are awarded annually for achievements in training, research and development as additional incentives. Winners are paid up to 4 thousand rubles monthly. A total of five thousand scholarships are provided for each academic year.[1]
