BeepCar Bipkar

BeepCar is the online service of search of fellow travelers on automobile trips developed by Mail.Ru Group. Traveling together, fellow travelers divide expenses on gasoline — as a result the trip costs cheaper to both the driver, and passengers. First of all BeepCar is intended for trips to the country and between the cities. Service of ridesharing is developed as an alternative to trains (as suburban, and distant following) and also to long-distance buses. BeepCar is available in the form of applications to iOS and Android and also in the web version.

History

2018: Purchase by BlaBlaCar service

Mail.ru Group and BlaBlaCar, service of search of fellow travelers, announced on August 6, 2018 partnership. Within cooperation BlaBlaCar will redeem service of a karpuling BeepCar started in 2017 from the company and will advance a karpuling on the platforms Mail.Ru Group. Financial terms of transaction do not reveal.

Since the fall, traffic of BeepCar will be redirected on BlaBlaCar and will provide Mail.Ru Group an advertizing revenue. Mail.Ru Group at the same time will continue to be focused on development of larger verticals: delivery of food, cross-border trade, classifieds, says holding.

According to Mail.Ru Group, since launch of BeepCar actively dews: increased both audience of service, and the number of trips, and total number of installations in Russia in the second quarter 2018 exceeded 5 million.

Acquisition of BeepCar will allow us to double activity in Russia and to offer even more reliable service a karpuling which corresponds to the needs of millions of Russians for the convenient solution for trips to long ranges — Nicolas Brousson, the co-founder and CEO BlaBlaCar commented on the transaction.

Fellow travelers in BeepCar can divide expenses on a trip using bank cards

November 20, 2017. In BeepCar non-cash transfer of money for trips appeared: so far it is the only ridesharing service in Russia giving such opportunity. Now it is possible to be calculated with the driver and using the bank card. It is important for long-distance trips in which it is not always possible to find the ATM for cash withdrawal.

At the request of users of BeepCar the list of options of settling with the driver expanded, having provided Safe Payment service. Thanks to a new option passengers who got used to use cards should not look for the ATM to remove cash. The driver, in turn, will be sure that upon termination of a trip the stipulated amount will arrive on the card; besides, he should not look for delivery for fellow travelers. The motorist can set a discount for those who select non-cash payment quicker to take reliable passengers.

That the passenger could transfer money for a trip to the driver, each of them needs to link the bank card to the account. It is also simple, convenient and safe to use Safe Payment service how to transfer money from the card to the card; at this BeepCar monitors that the interests of passengers and drivers were protected. When armoring the place in the car on the bank card of the passenger the amount equal to trip cost will be reserved. Money will be written off only after the driver and the passenger confirm that the trip is made.

If the driver decides not to go or the passenger will cancel armoring at least one day before the beginning of a trip, money will return on the card. If the passenger decides not to go less than in 24 hours prior to departure, 30% of trip cost will be charged from its card for benefit of the driver.

Since BeepCar launch in February, 2017 calculations between drivers and passengers were made only by cash. Service of search of fellow travelers — the platform on which users find each other and expenses on automobile travel divide. BeepCar does not interfere with calculations of fellow travelers — only sets the recommended prices, proceeding from the distance in kilometers of a trip, and monitors that drivers did not turn service into means for earnings and a taxi analog.

So far non-cash payment is possible only in Russian rubles and cards of the Russian banks. In plans – implementation of such opportunity and in other currencies.

Input of verification of passports for drivers and passengers

The service of search of fellow travelers of BeepCar announced on September 6, 2017 start of the function designed to raise the security level of users. Verification by the Russian Federation citizen passport is added to confirmation of the personality by the mobile phone, the e-mail address and accounts of social networks. Function is implemented based on the IDensic platform from Sum&Substance company which became the technical partner of service.^[1]

According to the research BeepCar, for Russians who doubt whether it is worth using ridesharing the main barrier is the mistrust to the stranger as the driver or the passenger. Therefore the functions confirming reliability of users (verification of accounts by the phone number, mail, a binding to social networks) are included into an obligatory packet ridesharing service. An important role is played by the system of responses from other users.

The confirmation of the identity of the user by the Russian Federation citizen passport implemented in BeepCar is a security technology. Information which is sent by users, is transferred on secure channels of communication. Check is regulated by law "About Personal Data" 152 of the Federal Law.

Check takes place voluntarily. For this purpose users of mobile applications on iOS and Android need to come into a profile, to click Check the Passport and using the camera of the device to scan the page of the passport with a name and a surname, date of birth, the passport number and the photo — under check all these data get. Users of the web version will need to load a photo or the scan of the document. Process takes several minutes. A system verifies authenticity of the passport, verifies data of a profile and using a sensing technology of persons compares the image on an avatar to a photo in the passport. Those who successfully undergo verification receive a mark in the BeepCar profile that the passport is checked, it is visible to all drivers and passengers. Besides, the drivers who underwent testing are displayed in search results as checked by the passport.

Start

In February, 2017 the Mail.ru Group holding started the raydsheringovy service BeepCar allowing drivers to sell places in the machine for joint trips. The service earned in the night of February 6. It is valid as for distant trips between the cities, and to the country.^[2]

The BeepCar applications are available in App Store and Google Play. It is also possible to use the website of service. On these resources both drivers, and passengers can be registered. The driver will be able to place information on the planned trip and the price, and the passenger — to find suitable option on route and date and to agree with the driver.

The system of ratings within which the passenger and the driver will be able to put down each other marks is provided in BeepCar and to leave comments which will be visible to all users.

In service each passenger receives life insurance and health for all the time of a trip. Process of insurance is automated.
