A.M. Gorky's museum apartment

After A.M. Gorky's death in 1936 his family managed to save a lifetime situation of the author of world famous works of art, architectural appearance and unique design solutions of the house and also to petition for creation of the museum. The status of the memorial Museum apartment the mansion on Small Nikitskaya, 6 – the last place of residence of the famous writer, – purchased in 1961 according to the decision of the government of the USSR. Funds of the museum contain documents, photos, the painting objects, materials relating to life and Gorky's creativity, exhibits from East collection which was tremblingly collected by the writer within 30 years.
